Poker nights, yoga classes in the park, birthday parties and family reunions: All of them can become free COVID-19 vaccine clinics under Texas’ mobile vaccination program that expanded on Tuesday — part of an effort to increase vaccine rates as supply increases and demand across the nation slips.
The Texas Tribune is using daily data from the Texas Department of State Health Services to track coronavirus vaccinations, cases, hospitalizations and deaths. The state data comes from vaccine providers, city and county health departments, hospitals and laboratories. It may not represent all cases of the disease given limited testing.
VFW Post 8577 has several events planned for Memorial Day, May 31. There will be a Memorial Day Ceremony on the steps of the Coryell County Courthouse in Gatesville at 10 a.m. The Gatesville VFW was destroyed in a fire and the Copperas Cove VFW is taking on the responsibilities for that community.
Robertson Avenue is blocked off Sunday as law enforcement investigates an officer-involved shooting. A Copperas Cove police officer was arrested and resigned after the incident, it was announced during a press conference Friday morning. The officer also had his granddaughter in the vehicle with him.
