The City of Copperas Cove was joined by the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the remodeled Utility Administration building.
Last Monday, Texas’ main power grid operator asked Texans, mid-heat wave, to turn their thermostats to 78 degrees during the afternoon and evening for the week to reduce electricity demand on the grid after 12,000 megawatts of power generation unexpectedly went offline — enough to power 2.4 million homes on a hot summer day.
Three area law enforcement agencies are teaming up to meet the public and hand out free ice cream.
Due to a lifeguard staffing shortage, the Copperas Cove Parks and Recreation Department will temporarily close South Park Pool until further notice beginning Saturday.
