Into the woods was what made the Texas Waterway Cleanup a fun event for a youngster and her family Saturday morning in Copperas Cove.
Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful had over 100 volunteers turn out for the first waterway clean up this year.
Over 900 pounds of trash was collected from three areas in the city. These included the creeks by Bibleway Church, South Drive and Derby and Eagle Creek.
The group met at 8 a.m. at the Cove Public Library parking lot. Volunteers picked up trash bags, trash grabbers and gloves as they headed to their destinations.
