Parks and rec, KCCB hosting park clean-up day

Copperas Cove Parks and Recreation and Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful will co-host a City Park clean-up event on Saturday, July 11, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at City Park, located at 1206 W Avenue B. July is Parks and Recreation Month.

The first 25 attendees will receive a free pocket waste bag, donated by KCCB. KCCB has also purchased six dog waste receptacles for the City Park. There will be a dedication at the stage area at Fester’s House at 10:30 a.m.

The groups are asking that all participants follow social distancing guidelines during this event and masks are recommended while interacting closely with others.

Hwy. 36 in Gateville undergoing upgrades

A contractor is performing pavement upgrades along State Highway 36 in Coryell County, the Texas Department of Transportation announced this week.
