Parks and Rec holds townhall meeting
A small group of about 30 people came out the Parks and Recreation townhall meeting at the Cove Civic Center Monday evening.
The meeting was to discuss with upcoming and ongoing park projects, specifically creating hiking trails at Ogletree Gap Park. Joe Brown, the director of the Parks and Recreation Department, gave a slideshow and answered questions, all of it recorded for Facebook Live, and gave a breakdown for park projects. Park improvements scheduled from 2017 to 2021 includes parking lots and sidewalks, walking trails, restrooms, pavilions, playgrounds, monument signs, fitness stations, security lights, multi-purpose fields and a splash pad for a total of a little over $4 million.
