Mayfest features challenging runs, car show at Ogletree Gap
Although some of the numbers were down, organizers of this year’s Mayfest say it was still a success.
Dennis Ayers with the Noon Exchange Club and chairman of the event said plans for next year are being looked at.
“Our event ran really smooth,” he said. “We had some competition this year with several other events going on at the same time that affected our numbers this year.
“It was a holiday weekend, so some people were away enjoying the long weekend,” said Ayers. “There were also three other car shows in Killeen, Harker Heights and Temple in addition to ours. We had close to 50 runners.”
