Fathom gives city extra 9 days
The City of Copperas Cove moved forward with replacing its third-party utility billing company, holding a special city council meeting Tuesday night to decide which companies to contract with moving forward.
During the meeting, City Manager Ryan Haverlah announced Fathom had extended its demise by nine days to Dec. 9. That gives the city an extra few days to continue woking on a solution. That should also cover most of the city’s utility billing for December.
The council was considering different software and service vendors for a customer information system, a customer portal, a work order system, a payment processor and bill printer and mailer for utility administration.
The city learned in mid-November that the current company, Fathom, would be going out of business at the end of this month.
