Dinosaurs fill gym at elementary school

It wasn’t quite Jurassic park, but it might as well have been by the look and sound of excitement as dinosaurs filled the Hettie Halstead Elementary School gym last week.

There were replicas of dinosaurs that included a pterodactyl and the big terrible lizard himself, Tyrannosaurus rex, along the walls of the building allowing families to get a close personal look at them and also read up on some of their points of interest.

The exhibit was set up by “Dinosaurs Live!” out of Reno, Nev.

“This has been a great turnout,” said Sandra Ziehlke, parent community outreach coordinator for Hettie Halstead. “It has far exceeded my expectations and it is great to see families here engaging in the activities. You know, we all need a fun night away from home every so often.”
