Nelson Schimdt, above, talks to some of folks who attended a 50th wedding anniversity celebration Saturday. Nelson and Charlene Schmidt celebrated 50 years of marriage Saturday with friends and family. Dozens of people turned out for the event at the Grace United Methodist Church fellowship hall. The pair were married March 6, 1970, in the church. The two were featured on a mural painted downtown on the location of the gas station owned by Schmidt, better known as Smitty. You know what I mean.” Copperas Cove Health Sciences student Kimberly Cimmino sang to pre-K students at Mae Stevens Early Learning Academy as she helped them learn the importance of handwashing now more than even during flu season and the outbreak of the coronavirus.

A&M-Central Texas was listed among 139 colleges and universities, each ranked equally for their efforts.
