* On Oct. 18, 1767, Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon complete their survey of the boundary between the colonies of Pennsylvania and Maryland, as well as areas that would become Delaware and West Virginia. The Mason-Dixon Line created the boundary at a northern latitude of 39 degrees and 43 minutes.
Copperas Cove Junior High student Serena Streeto slowly dipped a piece of cardstock into a mixture of water, vegetable oil and food coloring through a method called hydro-dipping. She gasped when she saw the results.
Texas law requires schools to give eligible students the opportunity to register to vote at least twice during the academic year. Voter registration cards are available at Copperas Cove High School throughout the school year. But, the push to get students registered with the Nov. 3 election looming ahead is in full force.
Four members of the Central Texas College faculty at the Killeen campus were recognized with the fall 2020 Dean of Instruction Faculty Recognition certificate during the September meeting of the CTC board of trustees. The certificates are presented twice a year and honorees are selected by a faculty committee in recognition of their outstanding work in curriculum development, community involvement, teamwork within their department, success with students and participation in institutional initiatives.
In the midst of a pandemic when Copperas Cove Independent School District students are required to wash or sanitize their hands every two hours, Copperas Cove High School students in chemistry teacher Misty Thomas’ class learned about the Scientific Method utilizing the importance of hand washing as their research problem.
