Cove Fire Department providing car seat checks for parents
As first responders were enjoying a meal provided for them by members of the Citizens Fire and Public Safety Volunteers Association, Inc., during an observance of 9/11 Tuesday afternoon, Deputy Fire Chief, Gary Young, Fire Chief Administrative Assistant Brandi Cornelius and Fire Marshal Mike Fleming were hard at work at the Copperas Cove Central Fire Station, helping a Fort Hood Soldier and mother of two young children properly fit her new child safety seats in her vehicle.
The group helped instruct 1st Lt. Maya Jimenez on the installation.
A slight drizzle began to fall and Fleming, who was holding the infant as the rest of the group did their work, made his way into the fire station’s lobby to keep the baby out of the rain.
