Council sets special election for Nov. 5
With the resignation of Councilman Charlie Youngs, the city council voted Tuesday to call a special election to replace him.
Youngs resigned after making a “rude” gesture to a member of the audience at a council meeting.
As required by the Texas Constitution, the city, because of its three-year council terms, must replace a council member within 120 days of an opening. The council was able to hold the special election in conjunction with the November regular election.
