City tops $5 million mark with sales tax
The City of Copperas Cove topped the $5 million mark in sales tax rebates for 2018, collecting $444,099.92 in December for a total of $5,014,248.65.
Last year, the city received $4,579,549.85 in allocations from the Texas Comptroller’s Office and $4,220,794.06 in 2016. Ten years ago, the city collected $3,496,486.63, and in 1998, Cove collected $2,121,806.59.
In December of 2017, Copperas Cove collected $374,902.41.
Coryell County collected $2,631,977.40 for the year, including $245,229.89 this month. The county collected $2,229,756.17 in 2017 including $192,272.88 in December.
In 2008, the county collected $1,553,513.74 and $980,671.28 in 1998.
