Spots around Cove hold historical importance

We’ve all read about big archaeological finds of great cities buried under modern ones – one civilization built on top of another. Did you ever stop to think about where you live and what you may be on top of?

I lived 17 years on Kate Street without knowing that I was living my life in Kate and Joe Morse’s pasture. Two streets were named for them: Kate and Joe Morse. During that time in Kate’s pasture, I researched a bit of Copperas Cove history and became fascinated with our Wendish settlers in Copperas Cove. One of those settlers was Christian Jacob, who was a founder of Immanuel Lutheran Church. I did several articles about the Wends.
