A hot and dry July 4th weekend kept the Copperas Cove police and fire departments busy.
Both girls started cheering at age 5. Both girls cheered in junior high and high school, serving as captains of their squads. Both girls earned the honor of All-American Cheerleader. Now, it is time for the two sisters to say goodbye.
Copperas Cove High School 2022 graduate Kyshanda Rios Martinez is well on her way to achieving her career goal of becoming a veterinarian. Martinez earn her veterinary assistant certification, the first step in becoming a veterinarian, thanks to the courses she received in high school.
VFW POST 8577 will hold its annual Fourth of July ceremony Monday at 11 a.m.Post members gather in front of the building and a bell is rung 13 times, once for each of the 13 original colonies. At noon, the post will hold a free barbecue dinner with brisket, pulled pork, sausage and side dishes. The public is invited. –FILE PHOTOS
