Members of Altrusa International of Copperas Cove, a community service organization focusing on literacy, and their guests celebrated Altrusa’s 31st birthday at the Copperas Cove Library earlier this month with food, cake and a bingo game with prizes.
Copperas Cove Junior High student Kyla Linnert described herself as “struggling” to understand the concepts of Algebra. While admittedly she had a better understand of the concepts than her peers, she still lacked confidence as the STARR math test looms ahead next month.
The Central Texas College Fine Arts department will host the Justin Pierce Jazz Group for its spring semester guest artist performance on Tuesday, April 26.
STEPHENVILLE – Copperas Cove High School’s FFA Floriculture team, consisting of members Jesse Chaco, Kyleigh Mata, Abigail Richmond, and Lynnsey Terry, held their breaths, anxiously awaiting the results of their placement in the Area 8 Career and Leadership Development Event held at Tarleton State University in Stephenville. The team was required to identify plants, judge flower arrangements, and solve problems. They also demonstrated their skills in flower ar ranging, propagation, and the preparation of floral and foliage products for sale. This was the team’s last opportunity to qualify for the state contest. Only the top five teams move forward and the CCHS floriculture team placed sixth, just points away from advancing.
